Serena, a seasoned hospitality leader with two decades of experience in the wellness industry, is fueled by an passion for innovation and transformation. Her mission revolves around exploring and enhancing our daily interactions with products.
Her journey took her across the globe during consulting stints, where she delved into the realm of clean formulations, particularly through her collaboration with an all-natural skincare brand. During this time that she became acutely aware of the enigmatic nature of 'fragrance' or 'parfum,' even within ostensibly 'clean' and 'natural' product lines. This combined with her inherent fascination with sensorial experiences, propelled her towards the exploration of natural perfumery.
In the vibrant ambiance of Marrakesh, amidst the fragrant wafts of sweet orange blossoms, refreshing mint teas, and the alluring aroma of marzipan-infused milks, Serena found herself considering a profound question: Could these scents be authentically recreated using only natural aromatics? This ignited her quest to showcase the opulent, profound, and intimate experiences that natural perfumery could offer. Partnering with a gifted natural perfumer Beckie Sheloske, Serena embarked on an inspiring journey that would redefine the essence of perfume.

Beckie is a self-taught Artisan Perfumer with over ten years of experience in blending and creating unique custom fragrances. With a passion for pushing boundaries and exploring creativity and art through scent, Beckie is the architect of CŪRATA’s unparalleled natural perfumes.
"Fashion led me to scent. Perfume, like fashion is a creation of a fantasy. The nature of scent creates magical, intimate experiences and instantly carries the wearer on a journey through their emotions. The mystique surrounding perfume was intriguing and I was drawn to understanding how to produce such elixirs. I sought out aromatics, began building a perfumer’s organ, smelling and journaling all my impressions. I could sense the layers of synchronicity between the notes.
From here, I read many books on perfume construction, history and the industry. I discovered an opinion that perfumes consisting of only naturals would be boring and flat and without dimension. This sparked me to dive into naturals and dis-prove this thesis. The journey to designing perfumes using strictly naturals, creating unique formulas and establishing proprietary techniques began. I’ve come to deeply believe that beautiful, full bodied perfumes can be achieved using only naturals and that is artistry and passion that speak through my perfumes."
